I should try making my life seem more interesting than it is! But the life of a mom student can become quite redundant. 6am wake-up. 6:30am, here I go again making my lunch. On the menu today: leftover pasta, grapes, energy bites (made by moi) and crackers using my handy dandy containers. We're out of yogurt and although I could take one of my daughter's, I'm going to have to pass.
My Mason Jar is looking pretty good. It has that one plastic bag from my Old Navy order. I have no garbage to report today! I still have 5 more days, and the future of this experiment is looking good.
While I was at school today, my husband made a trip to one of our favorite stores: Once Upon a Child. OUAC is a consignment store where you can bring gently used children clothing for cash. He was able to bring in a few boxes of my daughter's clothes she doesn't wear anymore and bought some fall/winter clothes at a ridiculous low price. There's really no good reason buying clothes for children at full price. But more importantly, clothes should be recycled as much as plastic or cardboard. Children go through so much clothes, buying from a store like OUAC is a green choice.
Through this process we're able to save money too, reconfirming that being green can help you save money! These businesses need your help to stay afloat so that we can continue the cycle. Some parents are reluctant buying second hand clothes for their children, but we often come home with great quality brand name items, like that shiny gold snowsuit my husband got our daughter today...
Men should not be left shopping alone.
