Day 5
It has arrived. The dreaded Old Navy order. My Mason Jar is full and can barely shut. Thankfully, the clothes fit great!
I'm still very proud by my very limited garbage collection... It has made me overly conscious of how unsustainable our world really is. It is almost impossible not to buy something at a grocery store that is not packaged in some plastic wrapper. Unless you buy in bulk, using your own containers and making your own food, it can be fairly challenging. Possible, but challenging.
This afternoon, my daughter woke up from her nap with a cheese craving. I opened up a Babybel for her and was obviously left with a bit of garbage. I wasn't going to disregard my daughter's wishes, just because of a bit of garbage. But that remains another issue... As parents we demand convenience. Being a parent is hard enough as it is, why would I not buy already portioned nicely wrapped piece of delicious cheese. I can't really imagine myself going through all this trouble with an infant in toe: buying in bulk and making my own snacks. A breastfeeding mom's worst nightmare! All we do is snack! Cloth diapers were time consuming enough! I feel like I did my part with those and making her purees... A whole year's worth of diapers. That's an accomplishment that mother nature can be proud of!
My mom is coming tomorrow and I still haven't thought of dinner plans. I have a lot of school work that is consuming my mind right now, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to wearing my new jeans tomorrow.
